MEDIA ADVISORY: World-record Doughnut Wall at Exploration Place

WICHITA, Kansas — Exploration Place is poised to achieve the official Guinness world record for the largest doughnut wall at its annual fundraiser, Death by Chocolate.

Date: Saturday, May 8 

Time: 4:45 p.m.
Location: Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd

The wall is more than 48 feet long and will hold 2,021 doughnuts provided by Dunkin’ of Wichita. The wall has been fabricated to mimic the sweeping curves of Exploration Place’s iconic building, and the doughnut shape – a toroid – played a large role in inspiring internationally acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie’s design.

Police Chief Gordon Ramsay and Sheriff Jeff Easter will serve as the independent witnesses required for the world record. Media are invited to document the occasion as our top local law enforcement – good sports – inspect the doughnuts.

The current world record for the largest doughnut wall is 1,201 at The Big Hoolie event in St. Andrews, UK, on November 30, 2019.
