Stardust: An Immersive Live Music Experience has thrilled audiences nationwide since bursting onto the national circuit in 2023. This unique show combines a live, “Brian Eno-esque” (TheNews-Herald.com) improvised score performed nightly alongside breathtaking 360-degree 4K space footage, taking audiences on a journey from Earth to the furthest edge of time and space. Captivating fans of cinematic music, epic movie scores and space history alike, audiences of all ages are both entertained and educated as the performance explores humankind’s relationship with the cosmos.
Since launching nationwide, Stardust has enjoyed successful residencies and sold-out performances at planetariums and science centers across the country. Driven by critical acclaim and word of mouth, the show has drawn repeat sold-out audiences in Las Vegas, Nevada, alongside recent sold-out performances in Nashville, Cleveland, Tacoma and the Washington, D.C. area.
Meet the Artist Behind Stardust
John Allen is a Las Vegas-based artist and educator who has been at the forefront of the live looping (one-man band) community for nearly 15 years. He has performed at music festivals in Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle, Portland, and San Antonio, and has received invitations for his talents in Berlin and London. His multi-faceted improvised performances have thrilled audiences in theaters, planetariums, festivals, and in corporate events worldwide.
Since 2023, he has toured nationally with Stardust: An Immersive Live Music Experience, a groundbreaking production he created from the ground up. From concept to execution, he shaped every element of the show, blending music, technology, and immersive storytelling into a singular artistic vision.
The result is a one-of-a-kind performance that has captivated sold-out planetariums nationwide. Each show features an improvised, ambient live-looping score — composed and performed in real time – set against stunning 360-degree, 4K space footage exploring humanity’s relationship with the cosmos.
When not touring as a performer or educator, Allen is based in Southern Nevada, where he operates a private teaching studio with students from around the world. Many of his students have gone on to professorships, TEDx talks, and national press recognition.
