Gingerbread Village returns to Exploration Place for three Saturdays in December, filled with holiday fun, family traditions and plenty of frosting.
Build and decorate your own gingerbread house with all the candy, icing and colorful decorations you need to make it completely your own. We provide the supplies (and handle the mess), so your family can focus on the fun.
Whether Gingerbread Village is already part of your family’s holiday tradition or this is your first year joining us, come ready to create, celebrate and leave with a gingerbread masterpiece of your own.

Everyone receives a gingerbread build kit!
How It Works
You will receive a gingerbread house kit for each person. The pre-cut graham cracker pieces make it easy to assemble your house using the included icing. Each kit will have a variety of candy and toppings to strategize, engineer, craft and build the ultimate sweet escape. Turn it into a competition with friends and family, or visit solely for the sugar-coated memories. This day is one that children will remember long after the last piece of candy has been plucked off the rooftops of your gingerbread creations.
Pro tip: You are welcome to bring additional candy if you would like to customize your build even further.
*Children 2 and under are free with a paid adult.
Make it a Party!
Avoid the crowds, build memories and decorate gingerbread houses in a private party room! Perfect for large families, groups or birthday parties! Each room can accommodate up to 30 guests, including adults and children. Private parties include access to the exhibits and a kit for each person. Advanced reservations are required.

- Each person in attendance will need to have an event ticket, including parents and grown ups. Children 2 and under are free. Everyone will receive a gingerbread house kit to build.
- Gingerbread Village is a special event and is not covered by a free pass, coupon or any membership level and will require a separate, paid ticket per person attending. Gingerbread Village is not included in the Museums for All program.
- There are no refunds available for special events. The only valid tickets are those purchased through Exploration Place. Please be careful of online bots/scams offering to sell their tickets, usually in the comments of our social posts. These are not authentic offers and should be reported and ignored. If you have an emergency and can’t attend, please contact us to discuss options.
