Bring Exploration Place to your classroom with both in person and virtual programs! Engage your learners with hands on science activities from a variety of topics including life science, physics, outer space and more. All programs are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards.

Hands-on Programs

Kindergarten

        • Animal Engineers – Identify and explore how animals and plants use unique structures to survive. LS1.A
        • Rolling, Rolling, Rolling – Construct and test a maze to change the speed and direction of a ball. K-PS2-2

1st Grade

        • Hoop Glider – Test sizes and shapes to see which glide the furthest. K-2-ETS1-2
        • Vibration Station – Make matter move and travel across distances with sound. 1-PS4-1; 1-PS4-4

2nd Grade

        • Camouflage – Become a predator and learn different techniques used to try to catch prey. 3-LS3-1
        • Hoop Glider – Test sizes and shapes to see which glide the furthest. K-2-ETS1-2

3rd Grade

        • Aye-Aye Adaptations – Travel to Madagascar and meet an interesting primate who survives on grubs. 3-LS3-1
        • Pipeline Pressure – Put together a pipeline following specific criteria. 3-5-ETS1-1

4th Grade

        • Oil Spill – Test ways to remove oil from water and feathers. 4-ESS3-1
        • Pipeline Pressure – Put together a pipeline following specific criteria. 3-5-ETS1-1

5th Grade

        • Mix It, Measure It, Heat It Up – Examine the system of a few “hot” chemical reactions as you measure and mix. 5-PS1-2
        • Pipeline Pressure – Put together a pipeline following specific criteria. 3-5-ETS1-1

 

STEM Exhibitions

6-12th Grade

        • Amazing Anatomy: Dissect a brain, shark, or squid to examine anatomy and function.
        • So Excited! Just Can’t Hide It: Chemical materials will reveal their identity when set afire in a “flame test”.
        • Stars and Spectroscopy: Follow NASA techniques to see how stars and other space objects are identified using light.
