Say Y.E.S.! (You Explore Science) Afterschool
Y.E.S.! is a hands-on afterschool science club held onsite at your location developed and presented by Exploration Place. Each club location meets 12 times for 1 hour and 30 minutes. One time, each semester, students visit Exploration Place.
Fall 2017 - Superhero Science
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s an awesome afterschool super science experience! Take a leap into the science of super powers to explore the powers of the body, gadgets, elements, and mastery. Visit Exploration Place to investigate the national traveling exhibit, Hall of Heroes.
Spring 2018 - Build to Soar
Encounter the world of aviation! Design an aircraft to achieve a targeted goal. Build a working aircraft by installing pneumatic and electrical systems. Fly various materials to see which are lighter than air. Visit Exploration Place to experience the all-new permanent aviation exhibit, Design Build Fly.
Exploration Place at ESSDACK - Early Release Science Program
Exploration Place will be holding an Early Release Science Program from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. on the following dates:
Sept. 29: Build-a-Bot Register
Design and build your own robotic assistant.
Oct. 27: Code-a-Bot Register
Explore coding with Ozobots. Design mazes and code using Ozoblockly.
Nov. 17: Bio Code Register
Examine how scientists use coding to improve biological resources.
Jan. 26: Build to Soar - Design Register
Design an aircraft to achieve a targeted goal.
March 16: Build to Soar - Build Register
Build a working aircraft by installing pneumatic and electrical systems.
April 27: Build to Soar - Fly Register
Fly various materials to see which are lighter than air.
The cost is $16 per student (per day) and will include two action packed hours of hands on science activities! All classes are held at ESSDACK, 1500 E 11th Ave #200, Hutchinson, KS 67501. Parents can also register their students by calling 316.660.0620.
