Public Programs Associate (part-time)
Responsibilities of this position include: conducting interactive activities for our visitors, working in our Dome Theater and CreatorSpace, performing science demonstrations and assisting with visitors and daily upkeep in our galleries, etc. Visitor Engagement Associates must be enthusiastic, friendly and comfortable interacting with the public. Hours will vary. Evening and weekend hours are required. Fluency in Spanish a plus

Summer Educators (part-time)
We are seeking enthusiastic, engaging, and high-quality educators to engage campers during 10 weeks of summer camp, assist camp instructors, keep campers active during after care and deliver outreach programs for Pre-K - 8 during the summer months. Multiple positions available. Summer Educators will be needed for sessions from May 30 - August 11, 2017. Training will be provided. High school diploma required. Education or science background and fluency in Spanish preferred. Flexible schedule required, including some evenings, weekends and holidays.

Public Programs Manager (full-time)
This newly created position's focus is about inspiring a deeper interest in science through creative and fun experiences for people of all ages. This position will ensure high quality, consistent, enjoyable and educational experiences for guests through the development and implementation of science programs, gallery demonstrations and general public programming. Responsibilities include training and supervising our Public Programs staff, overseeing the Public Programs' budget and direction, evaluating and modifying current programs as necessary. This position will be collaborating with other departments to present effective, entertaining programming during peak demand hours for school groups, exhibit openings and special events. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, professional and positive, with exceptional customer service, presentation and communication skills. Requirements include: Bachelor's degree and experience working with the public in an arts, science or cultural setting. Previous supervisory experience is mandatory. Second language is a plus. The work schedule is generally Tuesday through Saturday with some evenings and holidays. Limited travel may be required.

Retail Coordinator (full-time)
Responsibilities for this position include managing all aspects of the museum's store; included but not limited to: researching new product, training of qualified staff and volunteers to work the retail areas, analyzing trends, maximizing profits, developing the annual retail budget and monitoring actual performance, safeguarding the retail inventory, pricing and placement of product, running the cash register, etc. Position requires excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to communicate easily with employees, volunteers, visitors and vendors. Well-developed office software skills including spreadsheet knowledge preferred. Retail experience is required. Fluency in Spanish a plus. The work schedule is generally Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week with occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Some travel may be required.
